Vertex Garden Rooms, a premium provider of bespoke garden rooms, aimed to enhance brand awareness and improve its organic search visibility in Surrey.

 

They recognised the growing demand for high-quality outdoor spaces during the pandemic, when working from home became the norm. Their work centres on bespoke garden rooms that blend with the home’s interiors while giving homeowners stylish, functional space for work, leisure and everyday living.

 

To stay ahead of the competition and increase their rankings in a competitive local market, they turned to Grid Digital Marketing to create an engaged community around their brand. We tapped into a community of home designers surrounding them through a bespoke SEO strategy.​

THE SEO REQUIREMENTS

CREATE A PRODUCT GALLERY.

We wanted to create a dedicated product gallery to showcase Vertex Garden Rooms’ designs, materials, and finishes. This would allow potential customers to visualise different styles and use cases, helping them understand the quality of the builds while encouraging longer on-site engagement and inspiration-led browsing.

CREATE SERVICE PAGES.

When we saw Vertex didn’t have dedicated service pages, we knew we needed to build clear, service-led content that explained their capabilities and the areas they serve. This made it easier for users to find relevant information while giving search engines a clear understanding of the business and its offerings.

IMPLEMENT KEYWORD RESEARCH.

Vertex Garden Rooms had no consumer or keyword research to understand how homeowners search for garden rooms and related outdoor spaces. We wanted these insights to inform page structure, content direction, and metadata, ensuring the website aligned with real search demand and could compete effectively in a crowded local market.

SET UP GOOGLE SUITE.

Vertex Garden Rooms couldn't see how their website was performing because none of their Google applications were set up. We wanted to make sure they had all the information and research about the consumer search journey at their disposal.

THE KEY CHALLENGES.

Low Search Visibility:
The website struggled to rank on Google’s search results, meaning potential customers were not discovering their services.

Limited Website Content:
The website provided minimal information about services, materials used, and the areas they covered, making it difficult for search engines to understand the business.

Technical Errors:
The site contained multiple technical SEO issues, including missing metadata, unoptimised images with no alt text, and no structured keyword targeting.

Unoptimised Google Business Profile:
Their Google Business Profile (GBP) was not properly set up, which limited their presence in local search results and Google Maps listings.

No SEO Strategy in Place:
There was no keyword research, structured metadata, or content marketing efforts, resulting in the website being invisible to search engines.​

OPPORTUNITIES FOR SEO IMPROVEMENT.

THE SEO STRATEGY

PRODUCT GALLERY CREATION.

We built a dedicated product gallery to showcase completed garden rooms for inspiration. Our strategy was very much driven by high-quality, SEO-optimised imagery to increase inspiration-led engagement. We knew this would inspire a keen community of garden designers when they saw the modern and tranquil designs of Vertex Garden Rooms.

SERVICE-LED PAGE STRUCTURE.

​We created clear service pages to explain the capabilities of Vertex Garden Rooms and the materials they work with. It was essential for us to include the locations served to boost local SEO. Overall, we aimed to improve user understanding of the services on offer whilst enhancing search visibility.

GOOGLE TRACKING TOOLS

Once the website launched, we implemented Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Business Profile, and Google Search Console to ensure accurate performance tracking from day one. This gave clear insight into how users interacted with the site and where optimisation opportunities existed.

KEYWORD RESEARCH.

Vertex Garden Rooms lacked prior keyword research to inform the website's content strategy.  We conducted keyword research to understand how homeowners search for garden rooms and outdoor workspaces, informing content direction and page priorities. 

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT.

Once we had all the foundational SEO elements in place on the website, we moved on to creating content that would resonate with homeowners and people interested in garden design. We created content that focused on ways homeowners could add value and extra space to their homes. We also informed keen designers on trends in the coming year, with Vertex's sleek design at the heart of this content. This community-driven content successfully generated reach and awareness for Vertex because it addressed what consumers cared about. 

LOCAL VISIBILITY SUPPORT.

Although we weaved Local SEO throughout the strategy, we also created deliverables focused solely on boosting local presence. Some of our activities focused on strengthening local relevance in Surrey, helping Vertex compete in a crowded local market.
